Combine numbers within vertical text

  • Add the Combine Characters command to a menu or toolbar.

    ShowHow?

    1. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Customize.

    2. On the Commands tab, in the Categories box, click Format, and then in the Commands box, click Combine Characters Button image and drag the icon to a menu or toolbar.

  • Select the characters or numbers you want to laterally combine within the vertical text, and then click Combine Characters Button image.

    • ShowTip

    To undo the combined characters or numbers, select the characters or numbers that are laterally combined within the vertical text, and then click Combine Characters Button image again.
