Use ink during presentations

  • In Slide Show view, if the Slide Show toolbar is not visible, pause on the slide.
  • On the Slide Show toolbar, click or tap the pointer arrow, and then click or tap Ballpoint Pen or Felt Tip Pen.
  • Write on the slide with a tablet pen or mouse.
  • ShowShow or hide ink annotations

    You can show or hide the edits you have made to your slides when you are in Normal, Slide Sorter, or Slide Show view.

    • On the View menu, click or tap Markup.

    1. Use a right-click equivalent to show the shortcut menu.
    2. Tap Screen, and then tap Markup.

    ShowChange color of ink

    1. In Slide Show view, if the Slide Show toolbar is not visible, rest the pointer on the slide.

      If the popup toolbar is still not visible, click Options on the Tools menu, click the View tab, and then select the Show popup toolbar check box.

    2. On the Slide Show toolbar, click or tap the pointer arrow, and then click or tap the arrow next to Ink Color.
    3. Click or tap the color you want to use.

    ShowHighlight items on the slide

    1. In Slide Show view, if the Slide Show toolbar is not visible, rest the pointer on the slide.

      If the popup toolbar is still not visible, click Options on the Tools menu, click the View tab, and then select the Show popup toolbar check box.

    2. On the Slide Show toolbar, click or tap the pointer arrow, and then click or tap Highlighter.
    3. Highlight anything on the slide.

    ShowErase ink

    1. On the Slide Show toolbar, click or tap the pointer arrow, and then click or tap Eraser.
    2. Drag the eraser across the ink you want to delete.

    ShowStop writing or erasing and return to arrow

    • On the Slide Show toolbar, click or tap the pointer arrow, and then click or tap Arrow.

    Note  You can use ink and continue to navigate in your slide presentation by using the navigation arrow buttons on the Slide show toolbar.

    ShowErase all ink on the current slide

    • Press E.

    Note  When you add ink during a presentation, you are prompted to keep or discard it when you close the slide show. If you choose to discard your ink, it is permanently lost. If you choose to keep your ink, it is available the next time you edit the presentation, and you can show and hide markup in Normal, Slide Sorter, and Slide Show views.
