Set an alternative text description for a picture or shape on a Web page

When you save your work as a Web page, the alternative text description is used by the Web browser if pictures or shapes are slow to load or if they are missing.

1. Click the picture or shape.
2. On the Format menu, click AutoShape or Picture and then click the Web tab.
3. In the Alternative text box, type the text you want. The text can be as long as you want, but some Web browsers might be able to display only a limited number of the characters.
