I can't add phonetic guides to my Japanese or Chinese text.
Microsoft PowerPoint does not support adding phonetic guides to Japanese or Chinese text. If you use Microsoft Word as your text editor, you can add phonetic guides to your Japanese or Chinese text, and then send the text back to PowerPoint. Upon sending the text to PowerPoint, the phonetic guide text converts to normal text, so it is best to send the text from Word only after you have finished making changes to the text.
I can't apply custom line-breaking settings for the language I want.
Custom line-breaking settings apply to only one language in a presentation that contains mixed text, so you need to change the language currently set to use the custom settings.
-
On the Tools menu, click Typography.
-
Under Show settings for, select a language until you see the Custom option selected. This is the language for which custom line-breaking settings are currently in effect.
-
Click Standard or Strict (Japanese only) to remove the custom line-breaking settings from that language.
-
Under Show settings for, select the language you want custom settings for, and then click Custom.
