Undo or redo an action

Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003

There are different types of actions that you can undo: actions you make yourself, such as typing a word, or actions that Microsoft PowerPoint makes automatically using the AutoCorrect feature, such as automatically capitalizing the first letter of a sentence.

ShowUndo or redo your most recent actions

On the Standard toolbar, do one of the following:

  • To undo or redo your most recent action, click Undo Button image or Redo Button image.
  • To undo or redo your most recent action and actions before it, click the arrow next to Undo Button image or Redo Button image, select the actions you want to undo or redo, and click.

You must select the actions starting from the most recent one.

ShowUndo or redo an automatic text correction

  1. After an automatic correction, rest your mouse pointer near the corrected text until you see a small, blue box, point to the box to display the AutoCorrect Options button Button image, and then click the button.
  2. On the button menu, do one of the following:
    • To undo the automatic correction, click Undo or Change Back To for the automatic action that was taken (spelling correction, capitalization, or formatting).
    • To redo the automatic correction, point to the corrected text, display the AutoCorrect Options button again, and click Redo for the automatic action that was taken.
