- On the Tools menu, click Add-Ins.
- Do one of the following:
- If the add-in you want to load is in the Available Add-Ins list, click the add-in, and then click Load.

If the add-in you want to load isn't in the Available Add-Ins list, click Add New, locate the add-in, and then click OK.
- Add the COM Add-Ins command to the Tools menu.
- On the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Commands tab.
- In the Categories box, click Tools.
- Drag COM Add-Ins from the Commands box to the Tools menu. When the menu commands are displayed, point to the location where you want the COM Add-Ins command to appear on the menu, and then release the mouse button.
- Click Close.
- On the Tools menu, click COM Add-Ins.
- Do one of the following:
- If the COM add-in you want to load is in the Add-Ins available list, click the add-in, and then click OK.

If the COM add-in you want to load isn't in the Add-Ins available list, click Add, locate the add-in, and then click OK.
Note Component Object Model (COM) add-ins are typically used by developers.
Note You can obtain add-ins from the Microsoft Office Web site or third-party vendors, or you can write your own custom add-in programs by using Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications.
