Broadcast settings

The Broadcast Settings dialog box contains the Presenter tab, on which you can set options for the presenter of your broadcast, and the Advanced tab, on which you can select Microsoft Windows Media Server or chat server locations for your broadcast.

Presenter settings

Audio/Video Presentation broadcasts are automatically set up to include audio and video streams, so that you can give a presentation much the way you would if you were in the same room as the viewers. If you want to conserve computer resources, or just want to run a timed presentation, you can select Audio only or None (no audio or video). If you will be using the audio and video options, you should use a Windows Media Server or a Windows Media service provider for the best performance.

Speaker notes Select the Display speaker notes with presentation check box if you want to automatically view speaker notes during the broadcast.

File location If you are broadcasting live, you will need to specify a shared location for your presentation broadcast files. If you are recording a broadcast, you can save anywhere you want; however, for others to view your broadcast you will have to move the files to a shared location or share the folder you designate.

Resizable screen or full screen This refers to the Microsoft Internet Explorer window that shows the presentation and that you use to control the presentation once the broadcast begins. Select the resizable screen option if you want to be able to easily access other programs (including Microsoft PowerPoint) during a broadcast.

Advanced settings

Audience feedback (chat room) If you want to include real-time chat capability during the broadcast, type in the chat URL here (for example, mic://servername/%23roomname). PowerPoint does not check the validity of the URL or chat server.

Windows Media Server Use Windows Media Services if you will be broadcasting to more than 10 people at the same time. If you have access to a Windows Media Server, type the name of the server or computer in the Use this Windows Media Server on this LAN field. It is not necessary to include back or forward slashes with the computer name.
