Turn on or off Japanese grammar checking

If you are not using the Japanese version of Microsoft Office, then this feature is only available if you have installed the Office 2003 Multilingual User Interface Pack or Office 2003 Proofing Tools for Japanese. In addition, you must enable support for Japanese through Microsoft Office Language Settings.

  1. On the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the Spelling and Style tab.
  2. Under Japanese Grammar, select or clear the Check grammar as you type check box.

Note  When you turn off Japanese grammar checking, Office PowerPoint 2003 does not check Japanese grammar as you type, but words written in other languages are still marked with a wavy, red underline. At any time, you can run a grammar check using Spelling and Grammar Button image, on the Standard toolbar.
