Enter Composition As Atom String
The button allows the user to enter a sample composition for matrix calculations based on a formula string entered by the user. Parentheses and subscripts are supported. Although all lower case chemical symbols are accepted, in situations where the atomic symbol is ambiguous always indicate the proper elements using proper chemical symbol capitalization. For example: caco3 will be interpreted as CoCO3 (cobalt carbonate), therefore use the capitalization CaCO3 which will be properly interpreted as calcium carbonate.
To utilize more significant digits simply multiple the actual formula by 10 or 100, for example: “Ca80Mg20C100O300”.
