Create New Partitions

If you are using LANSA for the first time or if you are getting reacquainted with LANSA to use one of the other products in the LANSA family, it is probably appropriate for you to create at least one new partition for development. Refer to LANSA Partitions in the Introduction to LANSA for i Guide for a description of partitions and how to create a new one.

Give Authority to Users

If you have created a new partition or wish to use new features on the LANSA menus, you must provide your users with the authority to use the new features. To give users the required authority, sign on as QSECOFR or the partition security officer then, from the Housekeeping Menu, choose option 2. Review user access to LANSA system. To simplify the administration of the Repository and LANSA applications, it is recommended that you give authority to a group profile rather than to each individual.

Menu authority is now available in Visual LANSA. Slave Visual LANSA systems are configured from their IBM i masters.
