3.2.1 Before You Begin Checklist
Before you begin the Custom Installation task, check the following:
- If you are using an Independent Auxiliary Storage Pool please refer to Using Independent Auxiliary Storage Pool (IASP) for further information.
- Have you answered Yes to all the questions in the General Installation/Upgrade Requirements Checklist ?
- If you are adding software to an existing LANSA system, are they at the same version?
- Have you read the Software Installation Combinations in the Custom LANSA for i Installations to help plan your installation?
- Have you checked the prefixes that you must supply and the parameters that you must confirm when performing the install?
If not, you will find them at the beginning of each section for the installation options you select. For example, if you are creating a new partition, you will need to know the you wish to assign to the partition, the Partition you may wish to use as a base, and the names to be assigned to the and libraries. These are described in Create New Partition.
- Do you know which partition options you will be installing? For selections, refer to Partition Initialization .
- If you are not using the default IFS directories, have you created the directories that you want to use? (They must exist before you can use them in the install.)
- If you are installing LANSA for the Web, have you decided on a single-tier or multi-tier installation?
If you answer Yes to all these questions, go to 3.2.2 Call the Installation Program.
