10.2.3 How do I know if the port is accessible from the Internet?
If you are using the Internet and cannot access the port, check with your network administrator to ensure that the port is open to Internet access.
If you are using your IBM i on the Internet, there may be firewalls and other servers which may protect the ports being used on the IBM i. Even if the port appears open on the IBM i and the Listener is active, the port could be blocked by a firewall. You must consider your own firewall as well as firewalls used by your customers and your ISP. If any one of these blocks the port, access will not be allowed.
