Installing LANSA on IBM i

9.3 How we installed a LANSA System on IASP

The LANSA system was installed on IBM i V7R1 system using a custom install with the following values for the ASP parameters:

Auxiliary Storage Pool

*ASPDEV/p>

ASP Device

IASP1 Where this is your ASP device name

ASP Group

IASP1 Where this is your ASP group name

Once the install is completed the listener subsystem will not start automatically, such as it does when installing in the *SYSBAS asp.

Following are the steps carried out by LANSA after the install. These steps are for your guidance:

1.  Sign on as the QSECOFR or the profile that used to do the install.

2.  SETASPGRP IASP1 (your ASP group).

3.  Duplicate the Subsystem Description from LANSA Program Library to a Library in the *SYSBAS asp for this we used QGPL.

4.  Find the Job Description name and the Library from the Partition Security Officer User Profile that was created by install.

5.  Duplicate this Job Description from the LANSA Program Library to *SYSBAS asp library (we used QGPL for this).

6.  Change the User Profile Job Description Library to use this Library (we used QGPL).

7.  Start this Subsystem and the Listener Jobs will start as normal.

8.  This user profile is used to sign on and run the LANSA command to start LANSA.
