8 1 3 TCP IP and LANSA Listeners

Installing LANSA on IBM i

8.1.3 TCP/IP and LANSA Listeners

When you use TCP/IP for LANSA Open communications to the IBM i, you will require a LANSA Listener.

A Listener is simply a communications manager. The IBM i Listener is a subsystem and group of jobs which are defined to accept requests from LANSA Open. The subsystem is used to manage the LANSA Listener jobs for communication to the workstation products.

To check that the Listener is working, go to Verify Listener is Active
or to install a LANSA Listener, go to the Communications Setup Guide: IBM i Configuration.
