4.5 Initialization Imports

The LANSA components are supplied with LANSA standard objects, applications and tools. In this section, these objects and applications are generically referred to as imports and are listed in 4.5.1 Imports with the LANSA IBM i Software.

For a newly installed or upgraded system, import requirements should be selected for automatic inclusion in the Partition Initialization. Refer to Select Options to be upgraded and Partition Initialization in the Custom Install.

You may, however, choose to manually import the supplied objects to reset them or when you create a new partition.

Install Imports

You can install Imports in one of two ways as described in the LANSA for i User Guide:

Use F1 to invoke the help if needed.

WARNING: Do not make changes to the imported files as they will be reset during the next install or upgrade.

If your partition is non-multilingual, then you may need to change it to multilingual. Refer to 4.5.1 Imports with the LANSA IBM i Software for information.

When a set of fields are imported, all fields that refer to the imported fields are updated. The action of making the referred changes to fields on import can be deferred by use of the keyword *IMPREFFLDNOPROP in DC@OSVEROP.
