Is this version compatible with previous versions?
RDMLX objects compiled on this version of LANSA cannot be ported in compiled form backwards to any previous LANSA version.
RDML objects compiled on this version of LANSA may be ported backwards to the immediately preceding LANSA version provided that:
- They can be successfully re-encapsulated by the target IBM i operating system as required.
- No new version facilities have been directly or indirectly used in the RDML objects or database file definitions involved.
- All required LANSA run time routines are present and correct on the target system. Run time routines that may not be present and have to be individually installed from the later version system are normally prefixed DC@P8*, DC@P9*, BI@*, M@*, F@*, DC@S*, DCXS*.
- This facility is used only for very short term stop gap or emergency situations.
