Installing LANSA on IBM i

The IBM i Parameters (1)

Except for your Company Name, the defaults are formatted according to the options that you have previously specified when selecting the components to install.

 

LANSA Program Library

The name of the library into which the program component of LANSA for i software will be installed. This library must not exist. It will be created by the installation.

LANSA Data Library

The name of the library into which the data component of LANSA for i software will be installed. This library must not exist. It will be created by the installation.

LANSA Communications Library

The name of the library into which the LANSA communications software components will be installed. This library must not exist. It will be created by the installation.

Company Name/Title

The name or title to appear at the top of all screens displayed by the LANSA for i system. It is recommended that you center the name/title in the 30 characters available.

SYS Partition Library

The library into which objects associated with the SYS partition will be installed. This library must not exist. It will be created by the installation.

Enable for full RDMLX

Enter YES if full RDMLX is required for this partition.

Enter NO if RDMLX is not required for this partition.

If you are unsure of the implications of this option, refer to RDML and RDMLX Partitions Concepts.

If you enable this partition for RDMLX objects:

  • it cannot be returned to a non-RDMLX state
  • all development must be done in Visual LANSA
  • development in LANSA for i is NOT permitted.

If you select YES to enable the partition for full RDMLX, you will need to specify further options, as described in If you Enable a Partition for Full RDMLX in the LANSA for i User Guide.

The default value is NO.

Auxiliary Storage Pool (ASP)

If you are using ASP, then the value for this parameter must be in the range 1 to 32.

If you are using IASP, then the value for this parameter must be *ASPDEV. In this case, you must specify the next two parameters.

Default is 1.

ASP device

If you are using IASP, then the value for this parameter must be a valid IASP device name and the device must be online.

If you are using ASP, then the value for this parameter must be *ASP and this is the default.

ASP Group

If you are using IASP, then the value for this parameter must be a valid IASP group name.

If you are using ASP, then the value for this parameter must be *NONE and this is the default.
