5.1 LANSA License Categories

The LANSA license categories are:

  • Permanent
  • Temporary

Each license code is valid for only one CPU serial number and cannot be transferred to another. If you plan to change your CPU, ensure that you obtain a new license before the change takes place.

Refer to 5.4 Request a LANSA Product License

Permanent License

A permanent license gives you complete access to all the facilities that LANSA provides for the product(s) for which you have the permanent license.

If the start date is in the future, the facility will not be available until that date. Permanent licenses with a future start date will be shown in the License status display with that date.

Temporary License

A temporary license is a license with an expiry date. When the expiry date is passed, the facility will stop running with a message indicating the reason.

A temporary license could be issued for the time up to changing to another CPU or for a trial of a LANSA product.

Temporary licenses are added and updated using the same procedures as permanent licenses.

Seat Licenses

A LANSA license is either a full development license, with no restriction on the number of developers, or a seat license, for a number of concurrent users.

Seat License Types have the same license codes as an unrestricted license but allow for up to 999 concurrent seats.
