5.2 General Licensing Considerations
Following are some general considerations for LANSA licenses:
- To obtain LANSA license codes from your product vendor, you must supply the CPU number, IBM i model number and IBM i processor feature of each IBM i on which LANSA is installed. For how to obtain these details refer to Identify your IBM i Details.
- The LANSA License program is installed on the Data/Application Server.
- To develop or maintain LANSA applications on the IBM i, you need a current LANSA development license.
- To develop or maintain LANSA for the Web applications on the IBM i, you need a current LANSA development license and a current LANSA for the Web development license.
- A LANSA for the Web development license also allows execution of LANSA for the Web applications.
- If you are only executing LANSA for the Web applications, then you do not require a WEB (LANSA for the Web Development) license. A PWB (LANSA for the Web Production) license is sufficient.
- You do not require license codes to use the LANSA for the Web PC-based Editor and Administrator.
- You do not require license codes to use the Open System Administrator.
- You require a license code for the LANSA Integrator.
- Remember that a Temporary License code has an expiry date.
For a list of license codes, refer to 5.5 License Code List.
