Installing LANSA on IBM i

3.1.2 Call the Installation Program

1.  Sign on to the IBM i as either QSECOFR or a profile within the QSECOFR group.

2.  Insert the LANSA for i Software DVD or the first CD-ROM into the IBM i drive.

3.  From an IBM i command line (CALL QCMD), enter the following command to restore the software from the input medium:

LODRUN DEV(*OPT)

The LANSA Installation/Upgrade Program screen will be displayed.

4.  Specify the name of the job queue and library to which the actual installation job is to be submitted. The default value is job queue QBATCH in library QGPL. If this is not valid at your installation, change it to the name required.

Enter 1 to select the Typical Install.  Press Enter.

A pop-up box will be displayed with the defaults that will be used.

5.  Either confirm or change the defaults:

a.  New Library Prefix. If DCX (the default) already exists, then enter a different library prefix. If the prefix you enter already exists, an error message will be displayed.
Note: Do not use Q as the first character of the library prefix as it is used by IBM namespace of Qxxxxx

b.  Listener - connection identifier

c.  Web Instance Port - the port number used by web jobs.

Note that you cannot select a second Typical Install as the libraries will have already been created. If you do select this option again, as soon as you press Enter, an error message will be displayed to inform you.
