4.1 Task: Upgrade an Existing LANSA for i System
Check your current LANSA versions
If the version of the LANSA system that you are upgrading is
- at Version 12, Version 12 SP1 or Version 13, continue with the upgrade
otherwise
- you must first upgrade your system to the required version.
If you are unsure what you need to do, contact your local LANSA vendor for the update steps you will need to take.
If you have a single-tier LANSA for the Web installation and you wish to upgrade to a multi-tier installation, complete the following task: Multi-tier LANSA for the Web Installation.
Are you planning to create more partitions? If yes, save time by creating them during the upgrade.
You will perform the following steps to upgrade your LANSA for I system:

- 4.1.2 Special Warnings
- 4.1.4 Start the Upgrade process
- 4.1.5 Select the LANSA system to be upgraded
- 4.1.6 Partition Initialization
- 4.1.7 Confirm your Selected Options
Note: If you have been evaluating LANSA and do not need to keep anything produced so far, you may wish to delete the existing system and simply re-install a brand new LANSA system.
