5.3.3 Step 2. Apply Permanent License Codes

When you press F6 to apply new licenses from the Display Current Licenses screen, the Request New License File screen is displayed.

Use Request New License File screen to apply the new license xml file containing the new license codes supplied by your product vendor. The new license xml file can only be applied on the IBM i for which it was issued.

New License File Path

Enter the full path including file name and extension that you have copied the new license xml file to, accessible on the IFS (Integrated File System) on the IBM i.

Press Enter and the Select New Licenses screen will be displayed.

Use the Select New Licenses screen to select or deselect which new licenses from the new license xml file are to be applied.

The Sel (select) column will only be input capable for the new licenses. Blank means don't apply, nonblank means apply. In most cases the new licenses will be preselected to be applied. You are able to deselect these.

Press F12=Cancel to not go ahead and apply any new licenses. You will be returned to the Display Current Licenses screen

Press F6=Add/Create to apply the new licenses that have been selected. They will be applied and the Display Current Licenses screen will be displayed with the new licenses and a message stating that the new licenses have been applied.
