Installing LANSA on IBM i

4.1.4 Start the Upgrade process

You must use the QSECOFR or a profile in the QSECOFR group. The use of other profiles or the removal of the special authorities will cause security and integrity alterations to the upgraded system.

1.  Immediately before you start, sign off the IBM i. Sign on again but do not evoke LANSA from this session.

2.  Insert the LANSA IBM i Software DVD or the first CD-ROM into the IBM i drive.

3.  If you are using an Independent Auxiliary Storage Pool then you must set the IASP group by calling the SETASPGRP command. (Refer to Using Independent Auxiliary Storage Pool (IASP) for information.)

4.  From an IBM i command line (CALL QCMD), enter the following command to restore the software:

LODRUN DEV(*OPT)

The LANSA Installation Program screen will be displayed.

5.  The Upgrade option is only available if the program finds a LANSA component.

5.  Specify the name of the Job Queue and library to which the actual upgrade job is to be submitted. The default value is job queue QBATCH in library QGPL. If this is not valid at your installation, change it to the name required.

Note: The upgrade will create a new LANSA Root Directory. It is recommended that you use the default directory.

6.  Enter 4 to select the Upgrade and press Enter or F3 top Exit.
