4.8.3 Steps for Defining Batch Control

To create a batch control definition, you must specify four pieces of information:

1.  The file which will contain the batch control total

2.  The field in this file which is being totaled

3.  The field in the control file which will contain the batch control total

4.  The keys used to access the control file, i.e. the fields in this file needed in order to access the control file.

Up to four pairs of fields can be defined for the batch control definition.
