[144 One-way flow control valve (1)

The one-way flow control valve is a combination of an orifice or throttle valve and a non-return valve. In the closed direction shown of the non-return valve, the volumetric flow passes via the variable throttle gap, which creates a considerable resistance.

Speed reduction can be achieved by using a one-way flow control valve in conjunction with a pressure relief valve or a variable-delivery pump. The pressure rises upstream of the flow control valve until the PRV opens and routes part of the flow to the tank.
