Costing Method

  • Most Recent Cost. Select this option to use the cost of the most recently acquired units of the item.

  • Standard Cost. Select this option to use the standard cost.

  • Markup Cost. Select this option to use the markup cost you entered in the Item Pricing form.

  • Alternate Costing Methods. Select this option to use any alternate amounts entered for the item in the two optional alternate amount fields you can activate in the Options form. (The names you assign to these fields appear in the list displayed for the Calculate Markup Based On field.)

  • User-Specified Costing Method. You can specify items with a user-specified costing method as bills of material components (for example, non-stock items). You can specify the cost for the item when setting up a bill of material or during assembly of the master item.
