Create a New Price List

Item pricing forms

Inventory Control includes the following forms for creating and maintaining price lists for inventory items:

  • Price List Codes. Use the Price List Codes form to add new codes to identify price lists, as well as to change default discount (or markup) and tax information for each price list.

  • Item Pricing. Use Item Pricing to assign items to price lists, to edit pricing information for items, and to remove items from price lists.

  • Copy Item Pricing. Use Copy Item Pricing to add a range of items to one price list from another price list.

  • Update Item Pricing. Use Update Item Pricing to change prices or costs for a range of items on one or more price lists.

  • Contract Pricing. Use Contract Pricing to set up pricing arrangements for specific customers.

Before you start

  • Choose a code of up to six characters to identify each price list you plan to add.

  • Decide on default options for calculating customer discounts or markups for each price list code.

  • Decide on default price check options.

  • Add any new tax authorities you might need to Tax Services.

To create a new price list:

  1. Add a new price list code using the Price List Codes form.

  • You select default options for customer discounts, price checks, and taxes for the items you add to price lists.

Note: Each price list code can support one set of prices (including discount, tax, and price check information) in each of the currencies that you use in your business.

You do not need to add price list codes for each currency.

See Add Price List Codes for details.

  1. Add items to the new price list using the Item Pricing form.

Or

Copy items to the new price list from an existing price list.

  • You can adjust prices while copying and select the information that you want to copy.

  • You can copy prices from one currency to another, adjusting prices for the different exchange rate.

After adding or changing prices

  • Print the price lists that include the information you added or changed, using the Price Lists icon in Price/Sales Analysis Reports folder.

  • After assigning items to a new price list, you can use the Copy Item Pricing form to assign items to another price list or to another currency on the same price list.
