Weight Units of Measure Form
This form lets you:
-
Add the different units that you use for measuring the weight of items — such as pounds, tons, kilograms, and metric tons.
The default weight unit of measure (specified on the I/C Options form) is the unit for expressing the weight of orders in the Order Entry module.
The default weight unit of measure has a conversion factor of 1, and all other weight UOMs are defined in terms of a default weight UOM.
To add a weight unit of measure, you specify
-
The weight unit of measure.
-
A description of the weight.
-
The weight conversion factor between the default weight unit of measure and the unit you are adding (as a multiple of the default weight unit of measure).
-
The conversion factor for a default weight unit of measure is always 1.
-
You can use fractions in weight conversion factors even if you do not use fractional inventory quantities.
Before adding weight units of measure
-
Decide on the default weight unit of measure that you want to use on orders.
-

You set the default weight unit of measure on the I/C Options form after adding it to the Weight Units of Measure form.
-
Choose what to call each of the weight units of measure. The names you use appear on data entry screens.
