Other Changes in Inventory Control 5.4
Sellable Items
A new check box on the item record lets you specify whether an item is sellable or not through Order Entry. This let you separate items used in BOMs or items used by consultants or construction crews from your retail inventory.
Optional Fields in Finders
Optional fields now appear in Finders for I/C records, so you can search for and select records using the entries in optional fields.
Required Optional Fields without Default Values
In version 5.3 of Sage ERP Accpac, you had to specify a default value for any optional fields that were required in transaction forms or records. This is no longer the case. Note, however, that you must make an entry for all required fields before you can save records or post transactions.
Lowest Price for Contract Prices
Inventory Control now provides an option in contract pricing to let you use the lowest price for your customer, regardless of the contract price. If chosen, Order Entry will use the lowest of the contract price, discounted base price, or sale price.
Physical Inventory Adjustment Account
Version 5.4 includes a Physical Inventory Adjustment account with inventory account sets. This account is the expense account that balances the change in inventory value when you adjust inventory quantities after making a physical inventory count.
G/L Integration Options
Like other Sage ERP Accpac 5.4 products, Inventory Control lets you choose the information that appears in description, reference and comment fields for General Ledger transactions generated from I/C transactions. You specify this information on the G/L Integration form, where you can also choose to automatically post all General Ledger batches that are created by Inventory Control.
When you upgrade to Inventory Control 5.4, the program maintains the same description and reference information that you chose previously. You should review the choices you made previously to see if you now want to change them.
See G/L Integration in the Inventory Control help online for more information on General Ledger entries created by Inventory Control.
