Items Form — Construct Item Number Popup

Use this popup to add new item numbers, selecting the desired item structure and entering values for the segments in the number.

Using this popup to enter new item numbers saves you from having to remember the format of an item structure, and lets you choose the correct segment codes from the Finder for segments for which the Validate option is selected on the Segments tab of the Options form.

To open or close the Construct Item Number popup, click the Zoom button next to the Item Number field, or press F9 in the field.

To add item numbers

1. Type the structure code you want to use or select it from the Finder.

2. Enter a value for each segment of the item number. You can use the Finder to select segment codes if the segment has been set up in the Options form to use the Validate option.

3. Check the Item Number field to be sure the entry in the field is correct, then click Select to move the new item number to the Items tab. (When you click the Select button, the new number is automatically formatted and inserted into the Item Number field, and the Construct Item Number popup is closed.)

4. To cancel the item number you were defining and return to the Items form, click Close.
