For concepts and workflows, for example, for the answer to questions such as “What is a feature class?” or “What is FDO?” refer to the book Best Practices for Managing Geospatial Data. The Best Practices book is available as a printed book and in PDF format (from the Help menu in AutoCAD Map 3D).
To learn the most important features of the program using realistic sample data, work through one or more of the tutorials, which you can also access from the Help menu.
