Features Added in General Ledger 5.4
General Ledger 5.4 introduced the following changes and new features:
-
We rebranded ACCPAC Advantage Series General Ledger as Sage ERP Accpac General Ledger.
-
The Enterprise Edition is now Sage ERP Accpac 500.
-
The Corporate Edition is now Sage ERP Accpac 200.
-
The Small Business Edition is now Sage ERP Accpac 100.
-
We introduced a number of changes to G/L Account Groups.
-
You can now create an unlimited number of your own account groups to assign to General Ledger accounts.
-
You can change the descriptions of the standard account groups that are shipped with G/L to personalize them for your own business.
-
You can now delete account groups you created or delete any of the standard ones shipped with G/L that you are not using.
-
There is a new standard blank account group, with the description, "Unclassified Account Group", with Sort Code ZZZZZZZZZZZZ. If you do not wish to specify the account group when creating an account, you can choose this.
-
If Use Account Groups is unchecked in the G/L Conversion dialog box when you convert from ACCPAC Plus for DOS, all accounts converted will have a blank account group, which is the default account group. However, the existing 16 account groups from 01 to 16 will still be created.
-
If you want to print a set of common account groups but not other account groups in reports, you can now give the same sort code to all account groups in the set, specify printing by sort code order, and then choose the sort code of that set.
-
You can sort statements by Account Sorted Group and select account groups by Sort Code Range in:
-
the G/L Print Financial Statements report, and in
-
the FR View function of the G/L Statement Designer.
Type your drop-down text here.
-
-
We enhanced General Ledger reports.
-
You can now exclude accounts with no activity when printing the Chart of Accounts report.
-
You can sort the following reports by the sort code of account groups when you select the option, "Select Account Groups by Sort Code Range":
-
Chart of Accounts report
-
Trial Balance report
-
Transactions Listing report
-
Source Journal report
-
Transaction Details Optional Fields report
-
The Batch Listing report now includes the General Ledger Account Description, and, for a multicurrency database, if you select Functional Currency, you can also include Reference and Description details and Comments. This is also the case when you select the Source and Functional currency option; however, if you then select the Letter/A4 paper type, you cannot include Reference, Description, and Comments details, as those options will not be available.
-
-
FR can consolidate by \\acctgroup (account group) and by \\acctgroupsort (account sorted group).
-
You can set an optional field as Required without also requiring a default value. You must also set the Auto Insert option for the required optional field to Yes.
-
Finders display account optional fields.
-
You can view the year to be created in Create New Year.
-
We have removed the Go button from the Account History Inquiry, the Source Currency Inquiry, and the Transaction History forms. General Ledger displays results automatically when you change any input field.
