Why can't I view some account descriptions in Financial Reports?

Problem

When I use the Financial Reporter module in the General Ledger, I cannot see some of the account descriptions appearing in my financial reports.

Solution

Check to see if the individual account descriptions have any common description, for the accounts that are being consolidated in the report. You may need to edit their account descriptions in order to have them print out.

Example:

Account number 6200-100 and 6200-200 are being consolidated into account 6200.

If the description of account 6200 is "office expense total", 6200-100 is "office expense Richmond"and 6200-200 is "office expense Toronto", then the description on the financial report will show as "office expense", which is the common name for all three accounts.

If account 6200 had a description of "miscellaneous account" instead, then it would come out as a blank in the financial report as there is nothing in the description that is common.
