Copying and Pasting Text and DDE Links

You can copy data from your spreadsheet to other programs operating under Microsoft Windows by using standard Copy and Paste commands.

To copy a group of spreadsheet cells, mark the area you want to copy, and choose Copy from the Edit menu. Then switch to the program to which you are pasting (such as a word processor) and choose Paste from that program's Edit menu.

Using DDE (form's Dynamic Data Exchange)

If the destination program supports DDE, you can paste a link from the Financial Statement Designer instead of the data itself. In future, you can then update the destination data by recalculating the Financial Report, then opening the document (or database) containing the DDE link.

Note: A DDE link is a reference to a specific spreadsheet cell in the Financial Statement Designer. This procedure works only if the cell usage stays constant in the financial statement. (In other words, it works best when you have a statement containing formulas only — not a specification.)
