1.6 LANSA for the Web Deployment Models
A deployment model will consist of a combination of at least two - or all of the following components:
- A Browser. This could be any type or anywhere, depending on the application you are running.
- A Web Server, which can be a Windows, an IBM i or Linux server.
- A WIndows PC connected to the Data/Application server to run the LANSA for the Web Administrator.
- A Data/Application Server, which can be a Windows, IBM i or Linux server. This is where your LANSA Repository resides and where the LANSA application runs.
- An Application Development machine. You will typically develop your application on a Windows machine and will import the Web application from the Windows machine into the Data/Application Server.
You will need to install LANSA on one or more platforms to create the desired configuration.
You will typically use separate machines for your Web Server and your Data/Application Server:
Mixed Multi-Tier deployment model
You will typically use a Windows Data/Application Server and a Windows, IBM i or Linux Web Server.
Refer to Mixed Multi-Tier Deployment Model for more information.
Mixed Multi-Tier Development and Deployment Model
You will typically develop your application on a Windows platform as shown in the following example but you will import the Web application from the Windows machine into the Data/Application Server.
Single tier model
A single-tier deployment model consists of a single Windows, IBM i or Linux acting as both the Web Server and Data/Application Server.
