Transferring Fields, Files, Processes and Functions

There are two ways of moving your application definitions from the IBM i to the workstation:

  • Using a IBM i export list and LANSA Import on the workstation When you create an export list you have the option of transferring related objects. For example all the fields used in a file or function, without knowing them by name.
  • Using the Host Monitor to Check Out objects
When you use this process, you need to select each of the objects you want to Check Out. For more information refer to Check Out in the Administrator's Guide

Note that before you can transfer any application definitions, you must have transferred system definitions to the workstation as described in System Initialization in the Administrator's Guide.
