Polar track lock (F8)
If this button is activated during the measurement procedure, you can exclusively move on specific axes (the step of the track lock angle is set by default to 15°). Alternatively, press the button F8. It replaced the «Ortho» option

On image files, this button is ‘on’ by
default, in order to make the line drawing easier during the measuring
procedure.
Using the button F8
you can go within the two situations during the measuring procedure too.
