Object selection

By selecting objects, you can measure the surface area of standalone CAD entities. To measure the surface area of CAD entities, select the 'By counting objects’ method and click OK.

Then, select the CAD entities whose surface area you wish to measure, by clicking on them or by selecting all of them at once in such a way as to include the desired entities. This way, you can measure with just one click, for example, the volume of concrete in a plan view, allowing only the corresponding layer to be visible, by specifying the height and selecting all concrete walls and props at once.

Description: comment_16 By selecting objects, you can measure of CAD entities, while you cannot mark areas that are not objects.

Line enclosing point

By selecting line enclosing point, you can measure the surface area on the drawing’s level based on the lines that surround the point you click.

To use this method select «line enclosing point» and click OK.

Zoom in and pan, in order to move and bring in the middle of the screen the closed area to be measured. Then click inside this area.

The perimeter is marked automatically even if it is not designated as a closed polyline.

Description: comment_16 For better results follow the instructions below.

In case you haven’t zoomed in enough and haven’t centered the region you may wait for a long time and the measurement may not finish. Press Esc to stop the procedure. You can then repeat the measurement following the instructions.

You can continue by clicking in other points, in order to include in the same sub-measurement other closed regions, always by panning and zooming appropriately.

By right clicking hide or show the layers you wish, in order to «clear» the drawing and to make the selection efficient and easy. Choose either «Hide figure layer» or «Figure layer only visible».

Description: comment_16 If there is a region which is overlaid at the measurement around a point, this is measured only once.
