This section provides a brief description of Extensible MultiModal Annotation (EMMA) types and Microsoft extensions to EMMA. For more information, see EMMA: Extensible MultiModal Annotation markup language.
The types described in the first four topics of this section are defined in W3C schema definition for EMMA. Elements in this schema definition have either an xs: prefix or an emma: prefix. The namespace for those elements with the xs: prefix is http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema. The fifth topic in this section presents schema definition files with Microsoft EMMA extensions.
