Check, Edit, or Post a Revenue Recognition Worksheet

Overview

Before you start

To review, edit, or post revenue recognition entries:

  1. Choose Project and Job Costing > Periodic Processing > Revenue Recognition> Revenue Recognition Worksheet.

  1. In the Worksheet Number field, select the worksheet you want to review.

  2. To change the posting date, click the Zoom button beside the Year/Period field, then edit the Posting Date field in the Posting Date Override form that appears.

  3. To review the general ledger entry details for a selected contract, project, and category:

  1. Click the Details button.

  2. To enter a new percentage complete, type the percentage in the Percentage Complete field, then click Recalculate to display recalculated amounts for the general ledger entry.

  3. Click Close to return to the worksheet

  1. If you use optional fields, review or edit the optional fields assigned to worksheet details.

    To check or edit optional field entries for a worksheet detail

    1. On the Revenue Recognition worksheet grid, double-click in the Optional Fields column for the detail, or select the detail and press Shift+F9 on your keyboard.

    A separate Optional Fields form opens, displaying any revenue recognition optional fields that are set up for automatic insertion, along with their default values from the optional field setup records.

    1. Edit or delete the fields that appear, and you can add different revenue recognition optional fields. If the field is validated, you must select a value that is defined for the optional field in Common Services, including blanks, if the optional field allows them.

    Project and Job Costing will pass entries to General Ledger for accounts selected in the PJC optional field setup records if the optional fields are the same as the transaction details optional fields assigned to the accounts in General Ledger.

  2. When you have finished reviewing the entries, click Post.

  3. If any projects were marked Completed since the last time revenue was recognized, confirm whether they should be closed when prompted.
