System Settings

To configure your system settings, follow these steps:

  1. Expand Devices and Interfaces»Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) Devices in the configuration tree.
  2. Right-click the device you want to configure, and select Properties.

    –or–

    Select the device, and click Properties at the top of the Attributes pane.
  3. Click the System tab to set up the following DAQ device settings.

    Device Number

    Use the Device Number to identify the DAQ device in your applications. To modify the Device Number, enter a value between 1 and 64 in the selection box.

    Test Resources

    In the Configuring Device dialog box, you can test the assigned system resources and your device functionality.

    To verify the assigned system resources, click Test Resources. MAX performs a series of tests to verify the assigned system resources. A message box opens and reports if the device passed or failed. Click OK to continue.

    Note  Neither DAQ devices running in LabVIEW Real-Time nor the PCI-7041 RT Series DAQ device currently support the test resources option.

    Run Test Panels

    To test the functionality of the device, click Run Test Panels. MAX verifies the device and, if the device is configured successfully, opens Test Panels.

    If the device cannot be verified, a dialog box asks if you would like to continue. If you select Yes, MAX opens the test panels for your device automatically. If you select No, you return to the Configuring Device dialog box. Refer to your device documentation for troubleshooting information.
