Removing NI-DAQ Configuration Information in Windows 2000/XP
Deleting an NI-DAQ configuration file (default: Niconfig.daq) in your Windows directory will delete all SCXI configuration information as well as your analog input and analog output settings. The next time you run MAX, your devices will reappear, but the configuration information will be lost. You do not need to restart your computer after deleting the NI-DAQ configuration file.
To remove your NI-DAQ configuration, follow these steps:
- Delete the NI-DAQ configuration file (default: Niconfig.daq) in your Windows directory.
- In Windows 2000/XP, open the Device Manager by selecting Start»Settings»Control Panel»System. Select the Hardware tab and click Device Manager.
- From the Device Manager, remove all National Instruments DAQ devices by selecting each device and clicking Uninstall. In Windows 2000/XP, if there are any National Instruments devices in the Other Devices category, remove those devices as well.
- Click OK.
- Restart your computer.
The preceding steps remove the association between DAQ devices and NI-DAQ device numbers, and force Windows 2000/XP to reconfigure your Plug and Play devices. You must also reconfigure your non-Plug and Play devices.
