Adding DAQ Devices in Windows NT
Plug and Play Devices
ISA and PCI Devices
After you install your ISA or PCI device, Windows NT detects it. Complete the following steps:
- Power off your computer.
- Install your DAQ device.
- Restart your computer.
- Launch MAX, which scans your operating system for new devices.
- The new device appears beneath Devices and Interfaces. For information on configuring your DAQ device, refer to Configuring DAQ Devices.

PC Card Devices
Follow the same steps for non-Plug and Play and parallel port devices below.

Non-Plug and Play and Parallel Port Devices
To add your DAQ devices, follow these steps:
- Right-click Devices and Interfaces and select Create New from the shortcut menu.
- Select the appropriate device option in the Create New wizard, and click Next.
- Select the device you want to add.
- The device configuration wizard guides you through the basic device setup.
- Click Finish when you are done.
