Adding DAQ Devices in Windows NT

Plug and Play Devices

ISA and PCI Devices

After you install your ISA or PCI device, Windows NT detects it. Complete the following steps:

1. Power off your computer.
2. Install your DAQ device.
3. Restart your computer.
4. Launch MAX, which scans your operating system for new devices.
5. The new device appears beneath Devices and Interfaces. For information on configuring your DAQ device, refer to Configuring DAQ Devices.

PC Card Devices

Follow the same steps for non-Plug and Play and parallel port devices below.

Non-Plug and Play and Parallel Port Devices

To add your DAQ devices, follow these steps:

1. Right-click Devices and Interfaces and select Create New from the shortcut menu.
2. Select the appropriate device option in the Create New wizard, and click Next.
3. Select the device you want to add.
4. The device configuration wizard guides you through the basic device setup.
5. Click Finish when you are done.
