Viewing Allocated Resources
To view the properties for a device in the Device Manager, double-click that device, then select the Resources tab. This tab shows the resources allocated to your device.
The Setting based on selection box shows basic configurations. Each of these basic configurations contains a list of valid resources that the device can use. Typically, Basic configuration 0000 contains all resources a device could possibly need. Each subsequent configuration contains a subset of the desired resources. The following are the basic configurations.
- Basic configuration 0000 (Base address, one IRQ, two DMA)
- Basic configuration 0001 (Base address, one IRQ, one DMA)
- Basic configuration 0002 (Base address, one IRQ)
- Basic configuration 0003 (Base address only)
For non-Plug and Play DAQ Devices, these configurations are described in the nidaq.inf and the nidaq1.inf files in your Windows\Inf directory. For Plug and Play DAQ Devices, including PC Cards (PCMCIA), the configurations are stored on the onboard EEPROM, which is read by Windows 2000/XP.
