Configuring SCXI Chassis
To configure your SCXI chassis, follow these steps:
- Right-click the SCXI chassis you want to configure, and select Properties.
- The General dialog box opens. The following configuration settings appear in the window (depending on the device you choose):
Chassis ID
In the Chassis ID selection box, enter an integer between 1 and 32,767. Use this ID to identify this particular SCXI chassis in applications.
Chassis Address
In the Chassis Address selection box, enter the appropriate chassis address setting. Make sure the setting matches the actual chassis address setting on your SCXI chassis.
Note For the SCXI-1000, SCXI-1000DC, and the SCXI-1001 chassis, the chassis address setting must match the chassis jumper settings or DIP switch setting. For details, refer to the SCXI Chassis User Manual. Control SCXI with Internal Bus (PXI-1010 Only)
Select this option to enable the direct connection of the PXI device in the SCXI controller slot to control the SCXI subsystem.
This option is enabled only if there is a DAQ device in PXI-1010 slot 8. If this box is checked, you do not need to attach a cable between the DAQ device and the SCXI subsystem.
- Click Next.
- In the SCXI Auto-Detect dialog box, select Yes if you want NI-DAQ to automatically detect the SCXI modules in your chassis. If you do not want NI-DAQ to automatically detect the SCXI modules in your chassis, select No. You can manually add SCXI modules to your configuration.
Note Neither DAQ devices running in LabVIEW Real-Time nor the PCI-7041 RT Series DAQ device currently support the SCXI auto-detect option. |
- Click Next.
- In the Select SCXI Communication Path dialog box, select the communication path between your chassis and the computer, if necessary.
- Click Next.
- The SCXI Auto-Detection Results dialog box displays the modules found in the chassis. Select the module cabled to the DAQ device.
- Click Finish when you are done.
Note Refer to Operating System Considerations for specific operating system and device information. |
