Select the device, and click Properties at the top of the Attributes pane.
  3. Click the AI tab to set up the following DAQ device analog input settings. The settings you see depend on your DAQ device.

    Polarity/Range

In the Polarity/Range selection box, set the default analog input polarity/range for the device to either of the following:

    • Bipolar—A signal range that has both positive and negative values.

    • Unipolar—A signal range that is always positive.

Note  If you are not using a Plug and Play DAQ device or a parallel port DAQ device, you might need to set the analog input jumpers to match the polarity/range you selected. Refer to your device documentation for specific jumper settings.

    Mode

In the Mode selection box, set the default analog input mode for the device to any of the following:

    • Differential—Requires a positive and a negative lead.

    • Referenced Single-Ended—Uses a ground reference from the DAQ device.

    • Nonreferenced Single-Ended—Uses a common external ground reference.

Note  If you are not using a Plug and Play DAQ device or a parallel port DAQ device, you might need to set the analog input jumpers to match the mode you selected. Refer to your hardware user manual for specific jumper settings.
