- In design mode, click Submitting Forms on the Tools menu.
- In the Submitting Forms dialog box, type the new command name in the Caption box.
Note To create an access key so that users can use a keyboard shortcut for the command, type an ampersand (&) before the key. The ampersand will not appear in the command name on the menu.
Specify the form's behavior after it is submitted
After a user submits the form, you can specify whether the form will automatically close, the form will stay open, or a new form will open.
- In design mode, click Submitting Forms on the Tools menu.
- In the Submitting Forms dialog box, click Submit Options.
- In the Submit Options dialog box, do one of the following:
- To automatically close the form after a user submits it, click Close the form.
- To open a new copy of the form after a user submits the original form, click Create a new, blank form.
- To have the form remain open after a user submits it, click Leave the form open.
Customize the success or failure messages that appear when a form is submitted
- In design mode, click Submitting Forms on the Tools menu.
- In the Submitting Forms dialog box, click Submit Options.
- In the Submit Options dialog box, select the Instead of default message, show custom message check box.
- In the Success message box, type the message that you want to appear when the form is successfully submitted.
- In the Failure message box, type the message that you want to appear when the form is not successfully submitted.
If you do not want a message to appear when a user submits a form, clear the Show message indicating success or failure check box.
