Insert a button that refreshes data from a secondary data source

When you add a data connection to your Microsoft Office InfoPath 2003 form that receives data from a Web service, database, Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services site, or XML document, you can insert a button that allows users to refresh the data from that data source.

  1. In design mode, place the insertion point where you want to insert the button.
  2. On the Insert menu, click More Controls.
  3. In the Controls task pane, click Button.
  4. In the form, double-click the button, and then in the Button Properties dialog box, click Refresh in the Action list.
  5. In the Refresh dialog box, do one of the following:
    • To refresh all of the secondary data sources, click All secondary data sources.
    • To refresh one secondary data source, click One secondary data source, and then click the data source you want in the Choose the secondary data source list.
