Add or remove a background color from a form
You can set a background color for an entire form. Background colors can create contrast and interest when users view a form on the screen.
- On the Format menu, click Background Color.
- Under Background in the View Properties dialog box, click the Background color arrow, and then do one of the following:
- To add a background color, click the color that you want to add.
- To remove a background color, click Automatic color.
- Background colors may not be the best option for printed forms, because users may not have color printers, and printing background colors in grayscale or black and white may make the form difficult to read. If you apply a background color, make sure that the text on the form remains legible.
- Users' ability to print background colors is determined by their individual settings for Microsoft Internet Explorer. By default, background printing is turned off. To turn on background printing from within InfoPath, click Options on the Tools menu, and then select the Print background colors and background pictures check box on the General tab.
- Because colors appear differently on different computers and monitors, you may want to view your form on several computers and monitors to see how the color appears.
