Modify a list
When designing a form, you can format lists and list controls. When filling out a form, you can modify lists that you inserted into certain types of rich text fields.
Change the appearance of a list
- Select the list that you want to change.
To select a list control in design mode, click the Type List label that appears below the list.
- On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
- In the Bullets and Numbering task pane, select the formatting options that you want.
Note When filling out a form, the bullets and numbering options may be unavailable for the list that you want to modify, depending on the design of the form.
Change the starting number of a list
- Select the list that you want to change.
To select a list control in design mode, click the Type List label that appears below the list.
- On the Format menu, click Bullets and Numbering.
- In the
Start numbering at box in the
Bullets and Numbering task
pane, enter
the number that you want to start with.
Note For lists that are formatted with letters, the starting number corresponds to the equivalent letter in the alphabet. For example, if you enter 5 as the starting number, the letter E, the fifth letter in the alphabet, is the starting letter for the list.
